Mel & Kate & the Family

The Village of Riverside-Albert is located on Shepody river, which flows into Shepody Bay, at the upper reaches of the Bay of Fundy.

We are a rural community located 60km from Moncton at the centre of a range of major Bay of Fundy attractions, including the Hopewell RocksMary’s Point Shore Bird Interpretation Centre, Cape EnrageFundy National Park, and two hiking trails: the Trans Canada Trail and the Crooked Creek Hiking Trail.

Each year our recently renovated exhibition grounds host the Albert County Exhibition, the pride of our agricultural community for almost 100 years.

For hikers - we have two beautiful trails in the village. The Trans Canada Trail runs along the edge of the marsh, following an abandoned rail bed for about 20 km towards the Hopewell Rocks. The trail is flat and open. Walking it will give you a good sense of the extensive marshlands in the region.

The Crooked Creek Trail is an enjoyable forest walk that climbs quickly through the woods to finish at the spectacular Crooked Creek Lookout. The forest floor is covered with ferns and wildflowers, and if you’re lucky you may even see some wild orchids. A great escape from the summer crowds!
